The Canadian Business Aviation Association’s 48th Annual Conference was held in Calgary on July 7th & 8th. Omer Majeed of Specific Range Solutions attended and appreciated the markedly cooler weather there compared to what Ottawa was experiencing at the time. The event was informal as befitting the run up to the Stampede, it was very easy to talk with the various exhibitors and attendees. Richard Aboulafia’s international market forecast for business aircraft was very interesting and, yes, even fun. The speaker went into some detail to explain the the economic bases behind his prognostications. His view is that the next 6 months look dicey for the industry, but he is calling for a 10% compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) for the sector over the next 6 years. Let’s hope he is right.
