Specific Range Solutions Ltd. (SRS) has completed development of the A320 Landing Distance Calculator (LDC) App for the iPad and the demonstration version is now available as a free application on the App Store.
The A320 LDC App allows the user to quickly calculate the landing distance required and approach speed (VAPP) based on aircraft configuration, airport and runway selection, runway surface condition, and airport weather data. The objective is to enable in-flight calculation of landing distance by the crew using software installed on an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).
Our app has been designed to be accurate, fast and pilot-friendly. It is applicable to the A319, A320 and A321 versions of Airbus’ popular single-aisle aircraft.
The demo version has been developed using aircraft performance data available in the public domain, has restricted functionality with landing weights limited from 50,000 kg to 60,000 kg and is for evaluation purposes only; i.e. not for operational use.
SRS designs EFB applications for the iPad to support safe and efficient flight operations. We are also currently developing versions of the landing distance calculator app for the Boeing 737NG and Beechcraft 1900D aircraft.
